The wall of death, also known as the motordrome or silodrome, was a carnival sideshow featuring a round, barrel-shaped wooden cylinder, typically ranging from 20 to 36 feet (6.1 to 11.0 m) in diameter. Made of wooden planks, inside motorcyclists would zoom along the walls at high speed, traveling along the vertical surfaces to perform stunts and wow audiences. Much like modern carnival rides such as the spinning Gravitron, performers were held in place by friction and centrifugal force.
